Zimmer Frame Wheel Replacements

If you own and use a zimmer frame with wheels and use it a lot you generally wont see much wear or tear to the frame itself but one part of it that will become worn are the wheels of the frame.

They take a fair amount of the pressure and load of the user and eventually may become so worn down that they provide a less smooth motion as the frame is moved forward and may even become a little dangerous if they’re quite old.

You can purchase replacement wheels for many zimmer frames, make sure that you purchase the correct set for the zimmer frame that you own so that they fit properly, but the replacement wheels can usually be purchased for under £10 and enable a longer life for your zimmer frame and increase safety and smooth usage for you.

Exit Cars With A Swivel Cushion

Sometimes you just need a simple aid to help you move easily enough when getting out of cars and other vehicles, twisting may bring challenges for you and anything that makes it easier without requiring major modifications to a vehicle is good.

A car swivel cushion can be placed on the seat for any passenger and for the driver too who may have difficulties getting in and out of a car, even for someone with a temporary injury it can make entering and exiting the car a lot easier and lessen any chance of twisting that could cause discomfort.

The swivel cushion can be removed when not needed so theres no concern of it getting in the way when there are passengers in the car who do not require its use.

They are made to be comfortable too and not leave you feeling like you are positioned awkwardly.

A decent quality swivel cushion can be purchased for about £15.

Reacher Mobility Aids

When it comes to household mobility aids, everything is a welcome addition if its easy to use and makes daily living within your own home easier and allows you to get on with as much as possible.

When seated and standing up there can sometimes be objects within your eyes view but just slightly beyond arms length and extending out your arm to reach something or having to get up to take a few steps to then lower yourself down to pick up something may cause you more problems than you feel is neccessary.

This is where a reacher can come in very handy, they are lightweight with a handle on one end and a clamping action on the other end, with a light squeeze of a trigger near the handle it allows you to grasp hold of anything that you can manage with the clamp action so that you can reach things easily and often saving you from having to get up out of a seat or having to bend down if you’re standing up.

A reacher can often pick up something as small as a paper clip too so it really does come in useful in saving you from movements that you may feel are more effort than they are worth.

Some have magnets too for picking up metal objects and with all reachers the emphasis is on simplicity, they dont complicate anything and serve the purpose that they are built for.

A reacher wont set you back much either, you can usually find them priced at around £10 and even cheaper.

A handy mobility aid to have near you at home.
